House Progress: Demo

We have been spending most of our spare time working on the house and tearing it apart.  Here is our progress:

I couldn't wait to remove the lavender crown molding, which turned out to be base board.

As you can see we got into the house and immediately started tearing nearly everything out, which was not the original plan.  The original plan was to paint and replace flooring, but we decided to do more now rather than later because we don't have to live in the mess right away.  It is nice to be able to leave at the end of the day and go home to our clean and warm apartment.  I have a ton of respect for people who live in their house while remodeling.  That would drive me bonkers!  At times we feel like we are in over our heads and the mess can be overwhelming, but in the end I think we will be happy that we took the time and effort to make this place our own.  Check back for more house updates!

  7. Wow! You guys are really getting after it by tackling so many rooms at once! Can't wait to see how it turns out, I'm sure it'll be gorgeous.

My husband & I moved into a fixer upper ourselves & have done some DIY improvements as well. We were able to renovate our living room area before we moved in, & I agree! It's nice not trying to live in a demolition zone. I actually posted some progress pictures today.
